WINTER Jay

Charles J. Stille Professor of History emeritus at Yale University and Research Professor at Monash University.  editor-in-chief of the three-volume Cambridge history of the First World War, published in 2014 in English, French. He is a founding member of the Centre de recherche de l’Historial de la Grande Guerre, Péronne, and won an Emmy award for best television series of the year in 1996 as co-producer of the BBC/PBS television series ‘The Great War and the shaping of of the twentieth century’.  He has been awarded honorary doctorates by the University of Leuven, the University of Graz, and the University of Paris – 8.
